You will have to bring your A game when facing the Tulsa Hawks
The Tulsa Hawks are a dominant team that is built on skill, chemistry, and toughness. The traits are some of the many reasons why the Hawks will compete with any one at the 2017 Prep Hoops Finale.
You will have to beat the Hawks because they won’t beat themselves. At least not with 2018 Carson Calavan at the point guard spot. At 5’11, he is surprisingly shifty with the ball and he leaves defenders motionless with his hesitation.
Calavan is a talented shooter but he is at his best as a playmaker in the open floor. He is impossible to contain one-on-one which allows him to break down defenders and find his shooters. He is a legit Division 2 prospect and one of the more underrated payers at his position.
When Calavan is breaking down the defense he has a plethora of options due to the Hawks offensive talent. In a 58-48 victory over Oklahoma Primetime, he found one of his lethal shooters 2018 Brooks Haddock who has a quick but smooth stroke.
Haddock has a great feel for a shooter of finding open passing lanes for his point guard to find him. The 6’2 shooter from Muskogee is a an impressive prospect who has found a great role for Hawks.
When the Hawks offense bogs down they throw the ball to Layton Hartloff or Seth Martin for a bucket down low. Hartloff is more of a perimeter based forward but is excellent at slashing to the basket and finishing with authority.
Hartloff is very comfortable with the ball in his hands on the perimeter which brings added spacing to the Hawks lethal offense.
That spacing is crucial for Seth Martin to set up shop down low and score with ease. Physicality is a big part of Seth Martin’s game who bullies his way to the rim. Martin is the beneficiary of the spacing that all of the shooters for the Hawks provide.
Martin brings a toughness that is cant be logged in the scoreboard but he gives his team confidence to know they can compete with anybody.
With a full roster of talent, the Tulsa Hawks may or my not win the PHFinale17 but they will be a tough out for anybody.
