Washington adds offer
Former Jenks standout TJ Washington added an offer from the University of Tulsa to his offer list on Sunday. Washington now at Coffeyville JUCO in Kansas averaged 13.1 points per game on 39% shooting from the field. He also averaged an impressive 30.5 minutes a game as a freshman.
Washington was originally signed to IUPUI out of high school at Jenks, but ended up at Coffeyville for his freshman campaign. The offer from Tulsa adds to an offer from Oral Roberts.
Since playing his freshman season at Coffeyville Washington is receiving more interest than he has coming out as a senior in high school at Jenks. Washington is taking recruiting one step at a time.
“I love the position I’m in right now,” said Washington. “I am receiving a lot of interest this summer. I really like Tulsa.”
The hometown schools are recruiting Washington hard, but he is also hearing from several Division I schools outside out of Oklahoma. Washington hopes to keep the recruitment of him at the Point Guard spot on the rise with some big camps coming up.
Washington will be featured in the Mullens Top 100 and Elite 80 in Atlanta later this month. The former Jenks Trojan will have some Division I options to pick from after he takes care of business at Coffeyville this season. Washington could elect to sign early or wait until the late period in April. He has not decided, which one at this time.
Washington will look to build off an impressive freshman season at Coffeyville. Last year Washington helped lead Coffeyville to the Region Title and a National JUCO tournament birth.
