Texas GASO Standouts: Part 2
The Great American Shootout has been filled with action and here are some of the standouts.
Ousmane Ndim 2018 Sain Anthony
Ndim is a 7′ footer who who has nice touch around the rim. He tends to favor his left hand but it works.
He also controls the paint on defense and he is aware of his responsibility as a defensive anchor. Ndim was one of the more talkative defenders all day.
Tayvion Johnson 2018 Sanni Hoops Gold
Johnson plays with a ton of energy and it’s contagious. The 6’6 forward came off the bench for Sanni Hoops and added a different dynamic to the game.
Johnson is extremely bouncy and runs the floor with effort. Johnson is another intriguing prospect from Northshore.
Adokiye Iyaye 2018 OnPoint Hoops
Iyaye is a joy to watch because of his ability on both ends of the floor.
It was no different on Saturday as Iyaye hit big shots in pressure situations. He showed why he is a legitimate D1 prospect.
Micah Lena 2018 OK Respect
Lena is a versatile forward who can get it done on offense. Lena is getting more attention from college coaches because he can score in bunches but he also has great potential as a playmaker.
He made some jaw dropping passes on Saturday.
Dalton Vinson 2018 OnPoint Hoops
Vinson was a key factor in the OnPoint victories on Saturday. He seemed to come down with every rebound in traffic.
Many players would go for the ball but Vinson would come out of the smoke with the ball in hand.
He also showed in his limited touches how he can score in the post efficiently.
Tyrus Johnson 2018 SW Soldiers
Johnson is a 6’4 combo guard who is the type of leader you want handling the ball.
Johnson perfectly executed his coaches game plan of slowing the game down and breaking his defender and make plays.
He was key in helping the Soldiers defeat OK Respect by getting everyone to their spots and making sure to find them in areas they can have success.
