Prospect Spotlight: Dorian Harris (2018)
Cerritos High School produced current UC Irvine combo-guard Evan Leonard a couple a seasons ago. There appears to be another prospect that will garner college interest in the month of July and beyond–his name, Dorian Harris.
Harris was a standout in the Premier 80 event, directed by Dinos Trigonis. The 6-foot-5 wing-type is a multi-positional performer who impacts the game in a variety of ways. He has a nice frame with long arms and he possesses solid quickness and bounce.
Harris is one of the better looking sleepers in Southern California“I feel the strengths of my game consist of playing hard, rebounding, and shooting.” explains Harris. “I want to use my length and athleticism to make plays for my team.”
At this stage Harris is somewhat a diamond in the rough as his skill package is still coming together as well as his defense. “For my game to got to another level I must improve my perimeter defense and ball skills, especially when attacking off the dribble.”
Harris would fall under the “sleeper” category, but that hasn’t stopped a couple of colleges from inquiring this under-the-radar prospect. “Cal Poly Pomona and Williams and Mary are a couple of colleges that have shown interest.”
By the time August comes around, look for more colleges to be asking about Harris, who will be running with Gamepoint OC in Las Vegas.
