This spring and summer has been a active one in the Palmetto State with players transferring schools. Prep Hoops takes a look at some kids on the move this coming season. This list is just some recent movement later this summer Prep Hoops will take a deeper look into more transfers.
Dontarius James - Andrew Jackson HS to Huntington Prep (WV)
James recently decided to leave his 1,717 career points scored at Andrew Jackson HS. James playing with the South Carolina Supreme on the AAU circuit. James was ranked #4 in the Prep Hoops SC 2018 Class. James has offers from Wofford, Austin Peay, College of Charleston, Old Dominion, UMASS, South Alabama, and South Carolina State.
Trey McGowens - Wren HS to Hargrave Military Academy (VA)
McGowens helped Wren HS to the 4A State Championship Game last March. McGowens currently has over 25 plus college offers on the table. McGowens played with Upward Stars Southeast 2018 during the Adidas Gauntlet. McGowens was ranked #7 in the Prep Hoops SC 2018 Class.
Jamal Edmonson - Northwood Academy to Ashley Ridge HS (pictured on front)
Edmonson confirmed to Prep Hoops that he has transferred to Ashley Ridge HS. Edmonson played his 8th grade season at Stall HS before playing the last 3 seasons at Northwood Academy. Edmonson is playing with Game Elite Black 2019
Javarzia Belton - Calhoun Falls Charter School to Westridge Academy (NC)
Belton played this past weekend with his new AAU team Big Shots North Carolina 2019. Belton confirmed his transfer to Westridge Academy (NC). Belton (2019) just 16 years has grown to 6'10 now. Belton averaged 21.1 ppg, 12.8 rebounds and 4.9 blocks last season. Belton helped the Blue Flashes to the Upper State Finals last season.
Ta'Lon Cooper - Spartanburg HS to Word of God (NC)
Cooper is running with Team Loaded North Carolina 16. Cooper 6'2 averaged 10 ppg last season for the Vikings.
Tyrek Epps - Lake City HS to King's Academy
Epps a point guard is playing on the AAU circuit with TMP 17U. Epps has made solid strides playing with this talented team all spring and summer.
Emmanuel Johnson - Military Magnet to Northwood Academy
Johnson plays on the NTBA Circuit with the Carolina Cavaliers. Johnson whose mother was a 3 time-Olympian Basketball player plays football and basketball. Johnson (2020) 6'5 saw minutes last season as a freshman on the varsity level.
Ramello Grant - Military Magnet to Stall HS
Grant a 2 sport athlete will head over to Stall HS this coming fall. Grant 6'2 guard looks to bully players in the paint with his toughness.
Jalen Bailey - Military Magnet to Stall HS
Bailey a left-handed guard also excels on the gridiron as a quarterback. Bailey has a quick shot release from downtown. Bailey plays with Grant on Charleston Strong.
