OnPoint Hoops wins the Texas GASO NBA-Red Championship
OnPoint defeats M&E Black Elite 80-58 to win the Texas GASO NBA-Red Championship.
OnPoint has molded itself into a well oiled machine and it showed in the championship game.
They showed every different facet of their team versus M&E Black Elite.
Early on they pounded their opponent with with their size in the post. 2018 Dalton Vinson was dominant early on the block using his array of post moves. 2018 Blake Owens crashed the glass and got some layups.
Then 2018 wing Chris Braggs got hot abusing his mismatch to get a layup or midrange jumper.
Braggs was huge all game as a scorer and he also found his bigs for easy layups.
That helped OnPoint go into halftime with a nine point lead.
In the second half, 2018 Adokiye Iyaye was more aggressive and got to the line. Owens also was more aggressive and made some tough finishes.
M&E Black Elite tried to press and use their speed but Braggs sliced up the press using his offensive versatility.
Layup afternoon layup, it was clear that OnPoint was beginning to spread the game open.
They have one of the betters starting lineups in tha state on the AAU level and it showed this weekend.
A lot of individuals from OnPoint got a lot of attention this weekend but it was the collective effort from the group which led to this championship.
