OnPoint Hoops advances to the GASO NBA-Red Championship after a dominating victory over the San Antonio Spurs 71-57.
OnPoint had overwhelmed the Spurs with their efficient guard play and dominant performances from their forwards.
SA Spurs got off to a good start as they quickly led 9-0 right out the gate.
Then OnPoint began to pick up the pressure defensively with a 2-2-1 press which sped the game up and made the Spurs uncomfortable.
2018 guard Brock Schreiner was able to get some transition layups due to Spurs turnovers.
The Spurs had quality post players but they didn’t have enough opportunities to get them the ball due to the ball pressure.
In usual Adokiye Iyaye fashion, he didn’t force the issue but found his spots in causing a corner three and tough layups over size.
After getting the game to their pace, OnPoint went into halftime with a 38-32 lead.
The second half was owned by OnPoint as they dominated the paint.
Chris Braggs, Dalton Vinson, and Blake Owens took turns pounding the Spurs on the block.
The Spurs had no answer for the trifecta of post talent that OnPoint was throwing on the floor.
OnPoint went on to control the second half and advance to the championship In the NBA-Red bracket.
