Mullen’s High Profile Stock Risers: Part 3
The Mullen’s High Profile Tournament is taking place this weekend in Wichita, Kansas. Prep Hoops was on hand scouting the competition from the Midwest. Several Oklahoma players caught the eyes of college coaches and media. Get a look at our third installment of Mullen’s High Profile Tournament Stock Risers.
Mason Harrell 2018 Gym Time Hoops Point Guard
Harrell shined on the court leading the way for Gym Time Hoops at the Point Guard spot. He does so many things to impact the game in such a positive manner. When Harrell is running the Point, there is great consistency you know what you are going to get. This weekend at the Mullen’s High Profile Tournament Harrell did a good job of getting his teammates great looks but also finding openings for himself to score. Harrell holds one Division I offer, with good performances the past couple of weekends, Harrell is hoping to pick up some more Division I options. Prep Hoops projects Harrell to the Low to Mid Major level.
Trey Phipps 2020 PWP Black Guard
Phipps shot the ball lights out from three-point land at the Mullen’s High Profile Tournament. He also showed a strong drive to the hoop that was very effective. Phipps brought from what I have seen his most complete offensive showing this weekend, in his early high school career. He is showing he can score at all three levels, especially from deep, which is what prompted Oral Roberts to offer Phipps in June. Look for more Division I interest in Phipps as time goes on especially with the emphasis basketball has right now on shooters. Phipps stock is rising high.
Isaac Beverley 2018 Primetime Wing
Beverley will sign D1 for football, but if he weren’t, man he would be a good D2/JUCO basketball prospect. He has grown so much on the court in the last year. This weekend he was one of the top scorers for Primetime. He knocked down a few three-pointers, but mainly did his damage in the mid-range to post areas. What makes him so valuable is his toughness. Due to his toughness, Beverley can play inside using his quickness to give teams trouble on both ends really. He was a matchup nightmare inside all weekend for Primetime. Beverley looks to be set for a big senior year on the basketball court at Del City.
Andrew Crow 2019 Tulsa Hawks Point Guard
Crow brought all of his intangibles at the Point Guard spot this weekend for the Tulsa Hawks. He was big time controlling the game at the Point Guard spot. Also, Crow scored the ball well, especially driving to the basket. He has deceptive speed with the ball in his hands. Crow projects to the Division II level with his craftiness, floor general skills, scoring talents and consistency.
Jameson Richardson 2020 Team Griffin Forward
Richardson is showing strong signs of being a top three player in the Oklahoma 2020 Class with his ability to do many things at the four spot. It seems Richardson is finding his groove on the grassroots scene at the 15U level. He shot the ball well from mid-range and even displayed some from three-point range as well. The biggest thing for Richardson is getting more aggressive, tougher and acclimated to the national grassroots scene. The improvement over the grassroots season for Richardson has been tremendous. It will be exciting to watch a young prospect with the talents of Richardson grow. He projects to the High Major Division I level.
