Mullen’s High Profile Stock Risers: Part 2
The Mullen’s High Profile Tournament is taking place this weekend in Wichita, Kansas. Prep Hoops was on hand scouting the competition from the Midwest. Several Oklahoma players caught the eyes of college coaches and media. Get a look at our second installment of Mullen’s High Profile Tournament Stock Risers.
Bryce Thompson 2020 Oklahoma Run PWP Black 16u Wing
Thompson is just on another level. He came out this weekend and dominated. In one game he scored the first 11 points of the game leading the opponents head coach to yell “He has all 11 points! Who is guarding him?” He is an elite scorer from the outside who continues to show signs of getting better each time out at handling the ball. As Thompson develops his drive to the hoop his game will just continue to improve on the national scene. He is already a 2020 National recruit and should be ranked by just about everyone nationally in the 2020 Class. The shooting skills of Thompson don’t come around too often. He shoots it so well you expect it to go in every time Thompson shoots. He is a no doubt High Major Division I prospects with multiple offers already. The biggest areas Thompson can improve upon is getting stronger, a better handle of the basketball and learning how to handle the constant face guarding and double teams from elite teams. Thompson has a bright future on the basketball court. Get to know the name Bryce Thompson because before long many people outside of Oklahoma will know his name.
Carson Meier 2018 3D Athletes Wing
Meier was impressive at Mullens, really impressive. He got to the rim with a great mix of flashy moves on the offensive end. Tore off the rim a few times with some thunderous dunks. What made Meier stand out the most was his ability to create off the dribble for himself and others. The jumper of Meier with his handle and how he can pull up at a moments notice was very tough for opponents to defend. Meier will be a late steal for a Division I or Division II. His recruitment is starting to take off and it is easy to see why with the great performances he put together at Mullens.
Cole Jones 2018 Game Changer Hoops Elite Guard
Jones is a scoring machine from the outside for Game Changer Hoops Elite. He was most effective shooting from long distance. When Jones gets hot he is one of the best shooters in the state of Oklahoma. He holds a Division II offer from NWOSU.
Josh Rivers 2018 Primetime Point Guard
Rivers is a master at controlling a team at the Point Guard spot. He did a great job this weekend making the PG spot. The best part about Rivers is he always seems to make the right play. Rivers got hot at times this weekend and filled up the stat sheet with points. The biggest reason he stood out was his consistency of leading the team at the Point Guard spot with good vision, passing, defense (he was a pest with steals left and right) and his shooting touch seems to continue to get better. Rivers projects to the Division II level.
Jace Pratt 2018 Servants Point Guard
Pratt is one of the most under the radar players in Oklahoma. Most do not know who he is, however, that is changing slowly but surely this summer. Pratt is manning the Point Guard spot for the Servants raining in three-pointers with a mix of learning the Point Guard spot. It is the first time Pratt has played at the Point and at the Mullen’s High Profile Tournament he is showing he is becoming comfortable in the role at the Point Guard spot. Pratt has seemed to find the perfect mix of distributing and shooting the basketball. He shot the ball very well from three-point range. Pratt projects to the NAIA D2 to NCAA Division II level.
