Matt’s Prep Hoops Finale Saturday Stock Risers
The Prep Hoops Finale continued on Saturday with a great slate of games throughout the day. Get a look at what players brought their A game throughout the day.
Ben Pyle 2018 Kansas Select Wing
Pyle is long and lanky with some hops around 6’6. He scored the ball well from all three levels and did a great job of getting to the line. With a Division I offer on the table from Abilene Christian along with a host of Division II offers, Pyle is looking to have a very strong July. If Saturday is any indication of how the rest of the summer will go for Pyle look for more Division I looks. What sets him apart is his length, height and the fact he is a legit two way player with a big impact on the game. Pyle projects to the Mid to Low Major Division I level.
Josh Rivers 2018 Primetime Point Guard
Rivers was masterful with the rock in his hands at the Point Guard spot. He shot the ball extremely well. Rivers wasn’t all offensive he brought it on both ends picking up several steals. The biggest thing that sets Rivers apart is his ability to change pace so quick with the ball in his hands to go with his speed and shiftiness. Rivers is proving he belongs with some of the best Point Guards in the 2018 Oklahoma Class. He projects to the Division II level.
Brooks Haddock 2018 Tulsa Hawks Wing
Haddock is a scoring machine from just about anywhere on the court. He has been extremely efficient throughout the tournament. Haddock shined showing his jump shot off. He also used a nice floater to mix it up. He stands around 6’3 with some sneaky athleticism to his game. He is one of the best pure scorers at all three levels in the Oklahoma 2018 Class. He projects to the Division II level.
Brady VanHolland 2018 BBA UA Force Wing
He has scored the ball well today on the Wing. He can handle the rock with some good court vision. The ability of him to be such a good handler of the ball allows him to create with ease. In his second game of the day he went on a scoring rampage with a good mix of his jumper and drive to the hoop. He has some hops and can elevate. The athleticism of him will surprise you. In his final game of the day he continued to be very effective at scoring the ball. He projects to the Division II level.
Peyton Golightly 2019 Ball 4 Life Wing
Golightly is a Wing/Forward combo for Ball 4 Life. He stands around 6’5 with a great build. The strength of Golightly allowed him to do a great job of finishing around the basket. What allows Golightly to play on the Wing is his skilled jumper and solid handles. He was Mr. Consistent on Saturday scoring in double digits never 15 a game. Golightly will be a player NAIA and Division II programs should put on the watch radar for the 2019 Oklahoma Class.
Dylan Vincent 2018 Kansas Select Point Guard
Vincent has some game to him at the Point Guard spot. He plays with a swagger that is easily noticed if you watch him for more than 10 minutes. He controls the game well, limits turnovers and really sees the floor well. Division II programs are all over him with his ability to score and be efficient at the Point Guard spot. Vincent helped propel Kansas Select to the top overall seed in the 17U Championship bracket.
Caden Krotzer 2018 Oklahoma Hustle Point Guard
Krotzer is a Point Guard with an ability to do a variety of things that make it tough for his opponent. He showed off his three-pointer on Saturday. Along with some top notch defense. The best way to describe him on defense was a pest, always causing trouble for the opponent. What really makes Krotzer stand out though was his high basketball IQ. When it was late in games the ball was in his hands and Krotzer was clutch.
Kristian Khoury 2019 Team Unity Guard
Khoury is a key Shooting Guard for Team Unity. He went on an impressive run in an intense bracket play game showing off his quick trigger jumper. It was a stretch of straight fire from downtown and mid-range. Khoury is a prospect NAIA D2’s should keep a lookout for next year.
Cole Cornsilla 2018 Team Cougars Wing
Cornsilla stretched the defenses on Saturday with some excellent jump shooting. He got hot from three-point land and didn’t stop. Behind four three-point shots from Cornsilla Team Cougars advanced in Pool Play. Cornsilla is a shooter around the NAIA D2 to D3 level.
Jaylan Williams 2018 Oklahoma Magic Forward
With a 6’6 frame and size Williams scored the ball lights out in the paint. But it was his jump shot that had people raving of the level he played at on Saturday. Williams put together an outstanding set of offensive performances. He also played some solid defense at times making the opponents work in the paint. The ability to stretch out as a four man and hit the jumper along with his inside skills make him a target for schools. He graduated in 2017, but is currently planning to go a year of Prep. He has several D2’s interested in him.
