Prep Hoops Staff
The GASO Midwest took place in Wichita, Kansas this past weekend. Several teams from Oklahoma went and did very well in the tournament. The Prep Hoops staff was on hand to take in the talent out of Oklahoma. Get a look at what teams won their bracket and what players stood out this weekend.

Jett Sternberger 2019 Game Changer Hoops 17U Elite Point Guard
Sternberger played up for Game Changer Hoops 17U Elite squad this weekend. He scored the ball extremely well from three-point range. Sternberger was one of the best scorers in the entire NBA bracket throughout the weekend. He did a good job of controlling the pace and knowing when to shoot and pass. Sternberger already holds a Division II offer.
Adokiye Iyaye 2018 OnPoint Hoops Guard (UTSA Commit)
Iyaye fresh off his commitment this summer to UTSA dominated in every facet of the game putting on a show for OnPoint Hoops. He shot the ball well from mid and three-point range. Iyaye is one of the best two way players in all of Oklahoma. Iyaye projects to the Division I Mid Major plus level.
Blake Owens 2018 OnPoint Hoops Forward
Owens was a monster on the glass averaging over 12 rebounds per game for OnPoint Hoops at the GASO Midwest. He was very active on both ends. The intensity he brought to the defensive end was fun to watch with his swatting shots. Owens projects to the Low Major Division I to Division II level.
Taylor Williams Next Level Elite Guard
Williams stepped up big in the quarterfinals win with two clutch back-to-back three-pointers which capped a 6 point swing to put Next Level Elite in front and never looked back. Williams was all over the defensive end with hands on every loose ball and frustrating teams with his wasp-like defensive intensity.
Rylan McDaniel 2019 Next Level Elite Guard
McDaniel was a beast on both sides of the ball. Quick hands, feet, tenacious defense and his ability to score from multiple places on the floor paid tremendous dividends to the team and raised his stock over the weekend.
Trey Nolen 2019 Next Level Elite Guard
Nolen is consistent on defense and offense. His size, athleticism and length proved to be troublesome to his opponent. Scoring off the bounce and his ability to use his length to get past defenders is a weapon that gets more dangerous every time out.
Brock Schreiner 2018 OnPoint Hoops Point Guard
Schreiner got going with the ball in his hands at the Point Guard spot and never slowed down. He did a great job of controlling the pace. Schreiner was really good this weekend at knocking down shots from behind the arc. The scoring ability along with his control of the game had his stock going through the roof this weekend. He projects to the NAIA D2 to Division II level.
Fidel Anyabolu 2019 Servants Wing
He showed a lot of good athleticism this weekend for the Servants. The ability of Anyabolu to play multiple positions for the Servants this weekend was huge. He is one to keep an eye on in the 2019 Class. He projects to the Division II to NAIA D2 Level.
Jace Pratt 2018 Servants Point Guard
Pratt continues to be a player under the radar that shines week in and week out. Yes, he is small, but the shooting talents coupled with his court vision and ability to run the offense at the Point Guard spot have his stock shooting the the roof. Pratt is projected to the Division II to NAIA D2 level.
Tyler Street 2018 3D Athletes Combo Guard
Street was very consistent for 3D Athletes giving them a scoring machine from the two guard spot. He thrives in the catch and shoot opportunities with a great three-point shot. He shot nearly 60% from the three-point line for the weekend. Street projects to the NAIA D2 to Division II level.
Hayden Peterson 2019 Oklahoma Run PWP Wing
He scored the ball really well from mid-range mixing in some three-pointers as well. Peterson gives Oklahoma Run PWP a scoring force with some size on the Wing. He averaged 22 points for the tournament with some big baskets down the stretch. He projects to the Division II level.
Seth Pomeroy 2019 Oklahoma Run PWP Point Guard
Pomeroy ran the offense extremely efficiently averaging over 6 assists per game. He scored nearly 15 points per game for the weekend. Pomeroy is a Point Guard that plays very tough, has a high basketball IQ and a knack for clutch buckets. He hit a game winner for Oklahoma Run PWP this weekend. He projects to the Division II level.
Jalen Williams 2018 Team Cougars Point Guard
Williams did a little bit of everything for Team Cougars 17U squad this weekend leading them to a 3-1 record. He set up his teammates for great looks with his quickness creating openings. Williams scored the rock when needing stepping up in key times. He projects to the NAIA D2 to JUCO level.
Tyus Jeffries 2018 Team Cougars Wing
Jeffries coming off a big weekend at the Prep Hoops Finale continued his great success with a great scoring outbursts at the GASO Midwest. He was most effective getting to the basket and finishing. Another area he was huge for Team Cougars was rebounding the basketball. He projects to the NAIA D2 to JUCO level.
Ean Heise 2019 Team RSE Wing
Heise had a breakout weekend for Team RSE leading them to the NIT Silver Championship. He averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds. Over the weekend he his 18 three-pointers. The ability of Heise to stretch the floor with his shooting along with his toughness inside makes him a player to watch.
Jake Jennings 2020 Team RSE Wing
Jennings brought great hustle to the floor. He averaged double-digits in points for the weekend, but it was the other intangibles that made his game stick out. Rebounding and defense were the two biggest things that stood out as positives for Jennings.
Carson Lambaskis 2020 Team RSE Point Guard
Lambaskis has some swagger to his game at the Point Guard spot. He handles the ball well creating offense for himself and teammates. He did a good job of penetrating to the basket and finishing strong.
Caden Krotzer 2018 Oklahoma Hustle Point Guard
Krotzer is having an excellent summer scoring the basketball for Oklahoma Hustle at the Point Guard spot. What operates him from others is his efficiency scoring the basketball from three-point range. He shot 47% this weekend from behind the arc while nearly averaging 20 points, which for those who have watched him has become normal to see out of Krotzer. He projects to the NAIA D2 to Division II level.
Bobby Cade 2018 Oklahoma Hustle Wing
Cade had one of his best weekends of the summer scoring the ball well for Oklahoma Hustle. When the opportunity presented itself, Cade attacked the rim at will. Scoring was key form Cade with him averaging 18 a game, but the rebounding efforts of him stood out most. Cade is a hustling machine for Oklahoma Hustle.
Marquand Sorrells 2018 Oklahoma Hustle Wing
Sorrells has some upside to his game with Oklahoma Hustle. The Wing out of Arkansas brings athleticism and strength to the table for Oklahoma Hustle. He averaged a double-double for Oklahoma Hustle this weekend. He was all over the floor every time you looked up. Sorrells projects to the NAIA D2 to JUCO level.
Carson Calavan 2018 Tulsa Hawks Point Guard
Calavan was outstanding this weekend through the entire tournament controlling the tempo, setting teammates up for easy looks and shooting the ball lights out from three-point range. Calavan is one of those players who makes the entire team better around him. The college that lands him will get a steal. He projects to the high Division II level.
Layton Hartloff 2018 Tulsa Hawks Forward
Hartloff was a threat inside and from the perimeter at the stretch four spot. The 6’8 frame and size of Hartloff make him a player who was very key in the paint for the Tulsa Hawks all weekend long. He projects to the NAIA D2 to Division II level.
Brooks Haddock 2018 Tulsa Hawks Wing
Haddock has been very impressive to kickoff July. As a scorer he is in the elite category in the state of Oklahoma. The skill set to score at all three levels with great shooting form and touch make him a player who will be heavily sought after. Haddock projects to the Division II level.
John Caldwell 2018 Edmond Eagles Guard
Caldwell shot the ball solid from the perimeter and three-point range. He was at his best drawing foul calls with strong drives to the rim. Caldwell was a key scoring force for the Edmond Eagles. He projects to the Division III level.
Trip Wooley 2019 Edmond Eagles Point Guard
Wooley did a little bit of everything for the Edmond Eagles at the Point Guard spot. He got others involved well averaging nearly 7 assists per game, but was hard to guard because of his scoring skills. Wooley continues to improve each time out. He projects to the Division III level.
Michiah McQuarters 2018 Showtime Wing
McQuarters is a rising Wing in the 2018 Oklahoma Class. He scored the ball masterfully for Showtime this weekend at the GASO Midwest. He is long and lanky around 6’4 with the ability to score the ball at all three levels. Rebounding and passing were also bright spots for McQuarters. He projects to the NAIA D2 level.
Ananias Carson IV 2018 Oklahoma Hustlers Guard
Carson was huge for the Oklahoma Hustlers leading them to the championship. In the semifinals and championship game he scored the ball very well, especially in the key moments of the game. He projects to the JUCO level.
Jake Darr 2018 Oklahoma Hustlers Forward
Darr played tough for the Oklahoma Hustlers inside making key baskets in the paint. The ability of Darr to score the ball through contact was big. He was one of the leading rebounders for the Oklahoma Hustlers this weekend. Darr projects to the Division III to JUCO level.
Marques Warrior 2020 BTR Point Guard
Warrior did a great job of getting to the basket with his quickness. His scoring opened up lanes and easy baskets for his teammates. Warrior is a rising 2020 Oklahoma prospect.
Kavon Key 2020 BTR Wing
Key did a little bit of everything for BTR on the Wing. He brings toughness, intensity and hard work to the floor. Key is a player who has become known with his spring and summer with BTR on the grassroots circuit.
Shelby Sampleton 2019 BTR Wing
Sampleton scored the ball lights out from behind the three-point line. He hit 6 three-pointers one game and kept his hot shooting streak going all weekend long. Sampleton is one of the best shooters in the Oklahoma 2019 Class.
Estelle Laster 2019 BTR Wing
He shot the ball well, but really showed that he could do by getting to the basket. One area Laster took advantage of was posting up smaller guards. Laster had a good overall showing using his good build and toughness at the GASO Midwest.
Major Smith 2018 BTR Point Guard
He played well all weekend making some big shots to win games. Smith controlled everything on the offensive end with his steady handle. Smith is a relatively under the radar player in the 2018 Oklahoma Class. He projects to the NAIA D2 level.
Braden Boyer 2018 BTR Forward
He dominated in the paint scored over 20 every game but one. He consistently showed he could step out and hit jumpers. As a stretch four, Boyer is in the conversation for the best big man in the Oklahoma 2018 Class. He projects Low Major Division I to Division II.
Bryce Mooreland 2018 Oklahoma Wolfpack Point Guard
He dominated teams with his ball handling and his ability to get into tight spaces on the court. He often kept teams confused on whether to help or stay at home as his court vision often resulted in easy lay-ups or wide open shots for teammates. Mooreland projects to the Division II level.
Tre Waggnor 2019 Oklahoma Wolfpack
He was a marksman from the outside. His ability to knock down deep 3’s caused players to close out hard, which allowed him to get defenders off their feet and get by them to create mismatches.
Jeff Foreman 2019 Oklahoma Wolfpack
He was easily the most athletic player on the court in every contest. He was able to get by his defender and finish around the rim and had some spectacular finishes as well as blocks. If he can improve his jump shot, Jeff could be one of the hardest players to guard in the state. Jeff also has a twin (Jack) with a very similar skillset but Jack was injured and had limited time this weekend.
Eric Gooden II 2020 Oklahoma Wolfpack Guard
He was very creative and consistently scored in double figures to help the 15u team overcome an 0-3 pool play to win the Bronze bracket.
Chase Potts 2020 Oklahoma Wolfpack Guard
Potts was very difficult to guard all weekend. Easily got to the rim and finished in traffic. Potts is also an elite defender and places a lot of pressure on the opponents ball handlers.
