Friday’s Adidas Gauntlet Finale Series Top Performers (Kentucky Edition)
The Adidas Gauntlet series is in its Finale stages down in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Prep Hoops Kentucky looks to update you on all the action featuring programs and prospects from the Bluegrass State. Here, we take a look at Friday’s top Kentucky prospect performers.
Top Performers
Andrew Taylor (Corbin), Louisville Magic (2018)
The Louisville Magic played today, which means Andrew Taylor had to receive another scholarship offer, right? After a 19 point/9 rebound performance against the Atlanta Celtics, Taylor picked up his third offer in as many days – this time from Rice. Jacksonville State and Kent State offered on Thursday. Taylor shot 50% from the field. Taylor has some thinking he may walk out of this series with his first high major offer. He has other offers from Davidson, Belmont, Penn, Wright State, and many others.
Chance Moore (Beckley Prep, WV), Louisville Magic (2018)
Moore continues to put points on the board, having led the Magic in scoring all summer. He had 18 points (5-10 from the field) against Team Loaded (NC) and 14 points in a win against the Atlanta Celtics. He earned an offer today from USC Upstate.
Jayden Scrubb (Louisville Trinity), Louisville Magic (2018)
Scrubb continues to show off his athletic ability. Today he had a thunderous throw down that had the crowd going nuts. Scrubb can go inside and out, showing an ability to knock down shots from 3-pt range. In today’s win vs. the Atlanta Celtics, Scrubb had 12 points and 6 rebounds off 5-9 shooting. Scrubb is a mid to high high prospect.
Steven Fitzgerald (Pulaski County), Louisville Magic (2018)
Never count Fitzgerald out. After a lackluster showing against Team Loaded, the shooting guard from Somerset dropped 19 points on 6-10 shooting against the Atlanta Celtics. He knocked down four 3’s in the contest as well. Fitzgerald recently picked up an offer from Ball State.
Dionte Miles (Walton-Vernoa), Louisville Magic (2019)
We told you to keep an eye on Miles in our previous article, didn’t we? Miles walked out of the Atlanta Celtics win with 10 rebounds. He was also a starter to begin the game. Miles is a 6’8 F/C out of Northern Kentucky.
Mickey Pearson (John Hardin), Twenty Two Vision (2018)
The versatile forward scored 11 points and and grabbed 7 rebounds in a win over Rytes Warriors in the first game of the day. In a loss against Indiana Elite, Pearson had 6 points and grabbed 9 boards. Western Kentucky was in attendance again, and he walked away with an offer from St. Bonaventure.
Trevon Faulkner (Mercer County), Twenty Two Vision (2018)
Faulkner had a solid all around game against Rytes Warriors, his stat line – 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Against Indiana Elite, Faulkner had 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists on 50% shooting from the field. Western Kentucky continues to show interest in Faulkner and was in attendance.
Adam Kunkel (Cooper), Twenty Two Vision (2018)
Kunkel walked away Friday night with an offer from Youngstown State. He had 10 points and 2 assists against Rytes Warriors. He also had 10 points in Vision’s loss against Indiana Elite.
C.J. Fredrick (Covington Catholic), Indiana Elite (2018)
Fredrick continues to show why he’s consider to be one of Kentucky’s top 2018 prospects. The shooting guard is hitting shots from all over the floor, and it’s been consistent. He put in 16 points off 8-12 shooting (along with 6 rebounds) in a win against EG 10 Basketball. Craziest part of his stat line (in scroing 16 points) is taht he didn’t’ hit a 3-pt field goal, which is what he is known for doing. Really starting to show an all around game. In defeating 22 Vision, Fredrick chipped in 12 points and 4 rebounds.
Jake Walter (Covington Catholic), Indiana Elite (2018)
In Indiana Elite’s win against 22 Vision, Walter had a double-double – scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The 7’1 big fella from Covington Catholic has offers from 10+ division one programs already.
