Recruiting Report: Jaden Faulkner (2018)
Jaden Faulkner, a class of 2018 guard for Eleanor Roosevelt, is the definition of a sleeper. In last night’s summer league defeat at the hands of Gonzaga, Faulkner led the Raiders with 21 points on 10 of 20 shooting from the field.
“I’m a big guard. I rebound well,” said Faulkner, who is listed at 6’4, but has a 6’9 wingspan. “I look for my teammates first, and then I try to score.”
Faulkner pulled down seven rebounds from the lead guard spot against Gonzaga. Using his instinctive playmaking skills, Faulkner recorded two steals and two assists. A native of Landover, Maryland, Faulkner has been around the game since a young age.
“My finishing at the rim is the most improved part of my game,” Faulkner stated. “I need to work on my outside game. My 3 point game.”
Faulkner did not hit many threes in his junior year at Eleanor Roosevelt, and he knows that if he wants to succeed at the highest level he will need to continue to work on that. One thing we liked about Faulkner is his intangibles. He is constantly talking to his teammates while on the court.
“I have an offer from Central Connecticut,” said Faulkner. “I have interest from George Mason, JMU, La Salle, UMBC, and UMass. I will visit James Madison sometime in June. Also planning on going to George Mason, and UMass.”
What can a college program expect from Faulkner?
“A big guard that rebounds, and passes the ball well. A playmaker that sees the floor.”
