Prospect Spotlight: Jason Gibson (2019)
If you watch 2019 Sidwell Friends guard Jason Gibson play, one of the first things you will notice is that he is a dead-eye shooter from virtually anywhere on the floor. What most people don’t notice is that Gibson is very intelligent, super tough, and highly skilled.
“I have court vision and I’m not afraid to handle the ball,” Gibson stated. “Also if they give it to me, I’m not afraid to knock down the shot. Especially the three.”

Gibson has really improved as a ball handler, and is very tough to stay in front of. He recognized that he needs to continue to work on getting stronger both physically and mentally.
“Most people don’t recognize my court vision,” Gibson said about the most underrated aspect of his game. “And on the defensive end and taking charges.”
Sidwell Friends is considered to have a rigorous academic regimen, but Gibson is hanging tough with a steady 3.0 GPA. While no one is really recruiting him at the moment, Gibson still has plenty of time to make his impression. What does can he can bring to a college program?
“I can bring IQ, shooting the ball, working hard on defense, and talking.”
