Huge recruiting week in Oklahoma
The past week has seen some major recruiting news from each class in the state of Oklahoma. So much has happened over the span of the last 7 days. Get a look at what is the latest in the recruiting news in Oklahoma.
Kobe Burgess picks up ORU offer
Burgess picked up his first Division I offer from Oral Roberts this past week. He is right now clearly the top player in the Oklahoma 2019 Class. Burgess is excited about the future.
“It felt really good,” said Burgess. “I couldn’t really wrap my mind around it because I have been waiting my whole life. Coach Mills and the rest of the coaching staff told me that they are going to try and bring back the way ORU used to be.”
Tulsa is showing great interest in Burgess as well. Look for more schools out of the state to start recruiting Burgess soon.
Tauriawn Knight lands first offer
Knight projects to the Division I level, but has yet to receive an offer to this point. He does have heavy interest after a great spring. He picked up his first offer from UFAS this past week. It is just the beginning of what should be a huge July for Knight.
Camryn Dennis finds first offer
Camryn Dennis a 6’2 Point Guard with great handles and upside picked up his first offer from Oral Roberts after a great performance with Broken Arrow at ORU Team Camp. Dennis will be an interesting player to watch over the next couple of years with Team Griffin and Broken Arrow.
Trey Phipps picks up ORU offer
Trey Phipps is a hot shooter from the outside that can heat up in a hurry. Phipps showed his great shooting talents at ORU Team Camp landing himself an offer. Phipps is currently outside of the top five in the Oklahoma 2020 Class. He was excited about his offer from ORU.
“It felt amazing,” said Phipps. “It proves that hard work does pay off and for now I’m focusing on working on my game to be ready for July.”
Phipps is an undersized two guard that could make the transition to the Point over the next couple of years. He will be with Oklahoma Run PWP this July.
Walker lands BIG 12 Offer
Rondel Walker with Team Griffin and Putnam City West is taking off in the Oklahoma 2020 Class. He has lived up to the billing dominating the NIKE EYBL 15U Circuit. In Los Angeles the case could be made Walker was one of the top 3 players in the entire 15U tournament that weekend. He picked up an offer from Oklahoma State recently.
“It feels great to get my first D1 scholarship,” said Walker. Especially coming from a school I am close to and have been following the past four years as my sister graduated from Oklahoma State University.”
Walker has the chance to become a national name before his high school career is over.
Holman anchors first offer
Dayten Holman picked up his first offer from Oklahoma Baptist this past weekend. Holman dominated OBU Team Camp showing off his skill set with the ball in his hands at 6’5. Holman is a Point Guard with the skill set to create with the ball at a high level.
Wilson picks up first offer
Mo Wilson got his first offer from Central Oklahoma on Thursday. The 6’6 long Wing has so much upside and potential. He projects to be one of the top Division II recruits in the state of Oklahoma in 2018.
Nero reopens recruitment
