2019 Rankings Breakdown: Baltimore Guards Part 1
Our rankings breakdown continues as we move onto the first part of the Baltimore guards in the class of 2019.
Take a look at our breakdowns for the forwards here.
James Bishop | 6’3 G | Mt. St. Joe/Team Thrill | #14 overall
Bishop could very well be the best scoring guard of the class in the state of Maryland. The way he can mix it up in terms of being lethal from the outside or taking his man off the dribble to the rim makes him a tough match up. The 6’3 lefty is also active defensively. He has good anticipation in weak side passing lanes that help him spark a transition opportunity for his team. Bishop holds two offers from Temple and Kansas State.
Take a look at Bishop’s highlights from the AAU circuit so far this spring/summer here.
Rajeir Jones | 6’3 G | St. Frances/Team Thrill | #22 overall
At 6’3, Jones has good size for a point guard, which helps translate in his ability to rebound. He enjoys and thrives playing in the open floor, where he can display his crafty passing or finishing around the rim. While he still has improvements on his one-on-one game, Jones operates well in pick-and-rolls. He can knock down mid-range shots efficiently off the dribble.

Logan Curtis | 6’3 G | Calvert Hall/Team BBC | #26 overall
Curtis is a solid all-around guard that works extremely hard on the defensive end. His energy flows throughout his teammates whether it’s his intensity when his man has the ball or when he makes a weak side rotation for a charge. Offensively, Curtis is good at finding the corner on fastbreaks and knocking down three’s off kick-out passes.
Jalen Willis | 6’2 G | Joppatowne/Team Melo | #33 overall
Willis is a tough guard that embraces contact while attacking the rim. Transition is where Willis makes things very difficult for the opposing team. He sees a lane and attacks. Because of his relentless attacking, it forces the defense to collapse almost every time he drives. Willis does a nice job at seeking out the shooter or open big man following a defensive rotation.
