Below, we continue our breakdown of the Beltway area guards that were included in the rankings:
JON PRESTON | 6’2 G | ROCK CREEK CHRISTIAN/DC PREMIER | #27 OVERALL
Preston is a strong wing who can defend multiple positions, but is also effective as a playmaker and scorer. Preston can shoot it well from the perimeter. He is a good passer. He rebounds well from his position, and plays with a consistent motor.
MATT BALANC | 6’3 G | SPRINGBROOK/MID ATLANTIC SELECT | #30 OVERALL
Balanc is a very explosive guard who likes to get up and down the floor. He is a capable scoring threat from three, but also mixes it up well in the middle areas and at the rim.
MALIK KENNEDY | 6’5 G | NATIONAL CHRISTIAN/DC BLUE DEVILS | #33 OVERALL
Kennedy is a 6’5 versatile scoring wing who can defend the 1 through 3. Kennedy does a nice job moving without the ball, and constantly puts pressure on the rim.
CURTIS HOLLAND III | 6’3 G | SOUTHERN/DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB | #34 OVERALL
Holland is a tremendous athlete with a very strong work ethic. He rebounds well from his position, and can shoot well from the perimeter. Holland is good in downhill situations, and seeks contact in the lane.
DEMETRIUS BARNES | 6’4 G | KING’S CHRISTIAN ACADEMY/DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB | #36 OVERALL
Barnes is a talented and athletic wing who is coming into his own in recent weeks. He is getting accustomed to playing at a high level consistently, and is steadily improving as he adjusts to the speed and physicality he needs to play with at all times.
