Three of Kentucky’s top 2017 prospects have decided to go the prep/post-grad route after their upcoming high school graduations. Tavin Lovan, Timmy Dalton, and Damon Tobler – all of which are capable Division 1 prospects, will look to add to their already impressive resumes and have an impact at the next level.
Tavin Lovan, one of the top two players in Kentucky’s 2017 class according to numerous rankings, will attend Hargrave Military Academy. He follows former Bluegrass high school standout Braxton Beverly as one who will look to improve their stock while at one of the nation’s top programs. Beverly, formerly committed to Miami (OH), up’d his radar and will be playing at Ohio State next season. Lovan averaged 26.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game at Franklin-Simpson as a senior this year. He had been playing with Team Thad (Under Armour) prior to announcing his post-grad decision.
Timmy Dalton led the country in points per game (37.4) as a senior at Lawrence County this year. Previously committed to NCAA D2 Salem International, Dalton has decided to join Believe Prep out of Athens, Tennessee. His hope is to earn a Division 1 scholarship.
Damon Tobler had a number of low to mid major offers while playing at Perry County Central. The athletic prospect averaged 16 points and 8.5 rebounds as a senior, while also leading Perry County Central to the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen state tournament. Tobler has elected to attend Montverde Academy in Florida, one of the premier programs in the country.
