Three at the top in the Oklahoma 2020 Class
Oklahoma has three 2020 prospects that are separating themselves from the pack this weekend on the national circuit. Bryce Thompson who many have known about for a little while now with Oklahoma Run PWP. Two new standouts have emerged this weekend in Rondel Walker and Dayten Holman.
Without question Walker and Holman are in the top 3 of the Oklahoma 2020 Class. This weekend they have both proven their value on the court against elite competition.
Walker has put on a show scoring nearly 20 points per game leading the way for Team Griffin. One thing that has really stuck out about Walker is his high basketball IQ. The kid knows the game and he does not force shots. Walker has been great at creating with the rock in his hands. The hard part about guarding Walker is he can pop you with his jumper or beat you off the dribble to the hoop.
Holman is a 6’5 Point Guard with some of the best vision you will see in a player his age. He consistently makes the right play with the ball in his hands. It helps of course to be 6’5 and able to see over the defense. Holman has dominated at getting to the bucket with his speed and finishing through traffic with his height and size. He is still developing his jump shot. This weekend Holman has shown just how good he can be at getting to the rim and finishing. Holman is still raw in some areas, but that has to open some eyes with the way he has played this weekend. The potential for Holman in the 2020 Class on the court is through the roof. Athletically, Holman is the best out of three without question. He has rebounded the ball extremely well for a Guard this weekend. Holman has loads of potential.
Thompson is just doing Thompson. Once again he is having a great weekend shooting the rock. It should be pointed out Thompson is doing it on the 16U UA Circuit playing an age up as well. Thompson is tough as nails. He plays beyond his years with great basketball knowledge. Thompson is a three-point sniper who teams must account for at all times. This weekend you can see Thompson has to get stronger with the basketball to help him put the ball on the floor. That is the next step in his game. It is pretty clear Thompson is headed on the right path with the production he continues to put up game in and game out.
The three standouts in the Oklahoma 2020 Class at the top all project to the Division I level. Now it will be up to them to see how hard they work and develop over the next few years to see what level of Division I they end up at. This weekend all three have been spectacular in LA.
