Recruiting Report: Hunter Stevens (2018)
2018 Southwestern guard Hunter Stevens is going to be the man running the point this upcoming season.
After helping the Warriors finish 26-4 a year ago and serving as a two guard, the 5’10”, 150-pounder is set at point guard. He said he’s seen his game grow a ton since his sophomore year and he knows a lot is expected of him as a senior.
Stevens has been playing this summer with Charlotte Court. He says it has been going well so far as his focus is to just expand his game and get his name out there.
He began his basketball life at age 6. Pointing to his shooting, scoring, driving and ability to find the open guy as his biggest strengths. Stevens says his ballhandling is solid already, but he wants to make it even stronger this season.
No offers have come yet for Stevens, but he’s drawn interest from Alcorn State, Pikeville, Barry, Youngstown State, Newberry, Central Michigan, Arkansas Tech, Marrietta and the University of Tampa.
It is just a matter of time before he lands that first offer. Stevens has a knack to make a big play whether that is a pass to set up a teammate for a good look or creating a good look of his own. He’s a game changer and this fall will prove that further.
