Prospect Spotlight: Cameron Brown (2019)
Cameron Brown, a versatile 6’3 sophomore playing with the 16U District Basketball Club, is really coming into his own this spring after a solid campaign with perennial Prince Georges County powerhouse Eleanor Roosevelt. Brown hit 29 threes during the season at Roosevelt, and has that ability to stretch the floor but is also adept at breaking down defenders off the dribble and finishing through contact.
“I’m an all-around player. I can strap up on defense, share the ball, and score it when it needs to be,” Brown explained. “The most improved aspect of my game would probably be my defense, and I need to work on my ball handling.”
Not only is Brown unselfish, and a good leader. He is also a good communicator, and a very good rebounder for his size. Brown is strong academically as well. He has a 3.3 GPA. While Brown is yet to receive his first offer, a bevy of schools have him in their sights.
“I have interest UMBC, Marshall, Mt. St. Mary’s and George Mason,” Brown said.
What can he bring to a program at the next level?
“I think I can bring a lot of energy to a college team, and do whatever needs to be done.”
