Oklahoma State Saturday Morning Stock Risers
The Prep Hoops Oklahoma State Tournament kept rolling Saturday morning with a great slate of games. The Tournament is littered with talented players from the sooner state. Get a look at the players who stood out this morning.
For the complete schedule:
Keishawn Gardner 2019 Forward Heat Elite 16U
Gardner is a long lanky 6’4 Forward with some Post skills. He was super energetic on the court. Gardner blocked shots left and right. What was most impressive was his skills on the block. Nowadays it is rare to find a player who accepts his role in the paint, but Gardner not only accepted his role, but is thriving in it. He is a 2019 to have on the radar. Gardner is still raw but has potential to be a small college scholarship player at the next level.
Alfred Alkannama 2019 Point Guard Servants 16U
Alkannama is a dynamic Point Guard. He was huge for the Servants driving the basket and creating offense for himself and his teammates. Alkannama has great potential to turn into a Division II level recruit. He has really developed over the last year. Alkannama is one of the best in the 2019 Class at getting to the rim. He also has some good athleticism that allows him to block shots and be tough to defend.
Tyree Boyd 2019 Wing Servants 16U
Boyd shot the three-point shot well for the Servants 16U squad on Saturday. He is a long Forward with a shooters touch. Boyd is still raw in a lot of areas. He instantly stood out because of the effort he gave on the court. On the defensive end he is willing to step up and take charges and make the extra hustle plays. The offense ran through Boyd who stands at 6’3. Boyd projects to the small college level.
Tyler Mason 2019 Wing Tulsa Hawks 16U
Mason brought his A game this morning for the Tulsa Hawks. Mason can score the basketball from all three phases of the game. He is big enough to battle in the paint and band a little when needed, but also versatile enough to step out behind the arc and knock down shots. Mason projects to the Division II level.
Seth Pomeroy 2019 Point Guard PWP 16U Red
Pomeroy is a gamer at the Point Guard spot. This kid has some fight and heart in him. Saturday he rocked a black eye, which kinda describes the toughness Pomeroy plays with on the court. He moved the ball really well creating openings for his teammates off the dribble. Pomeroy scored it from all three levels as well. He is a good all around Point Guard that projects to the Division II level. His stock is on the rise.
Shemar Smith 2019 Forward Oklahoma Power 16U Elite
Smith was a monster for Oklahoma Power in the paint. He dominated on offense being aggressive when he got his touches attacking the rim at will. Smith is an intriguing prospect that is to early to project, but is going to be a top 15 player in the state of Oklahoma. Smith needs to improve his ball handling skills and jumper to transition to the Wing. Right now Smith stands as a 6’5 athletic Post. He has great leaping ability with a high motor.
JD Ray 2019 Point Guard PWP 16U Red
3-Point range is JD Ray’s zone and he showed it fully on Saturday morning. Ray came through in the clutch moments of the game with big shot time after time from long distance. He is undersized, with a nice dribble and a great shooters touch. Ray plays his tail off. Ray is a player who projects to the Division II level in the 2019 Oklahoma Class.
