New Signee: Jaxon Clarke (2017) Ogden HS
Jaxon Clarke started off his summer with a bang by signing his letter of intent to play for Centralia College (WA). This makes the fourth kid from the state of Utah to sign with Centralia as he joins Taylor Peppinger (Murray), Saxton Stringham (Grantsville), and Marqus Gilson (Westlake).
Clarke, the 6’2 point guard looks to be an immediate impact player in the NWAC Conference. He is coming off a senior year where he averaged over 15 points per game for Ogden High School who has their best season in many years. Clarke has the ability to get to rim and finish and can also knock down the three pointer with consistency. The thing I like about Clarke the most is his toughness. He is a pest on defense and is never afraid of the moment on offense.
Clarke credits the relationship he has built with Centralia College assistant coach Jonathan McMillian as a big reason on why he chose to sign with them. Coach McMillian has been recruiting Jaxon since last fall and never quit recruiting him all the way until signing day.
I think Clarke will be a solid player at the NWAC level and should be able to contribute as a freshman. I can see him being a very solid NAIA player after two years at the junior college level.
