Grassroots preview: Unity 16U
The Unity 16U squad entered the spring with some under the radar talent in the Oklahoma City area. They pride themselves on learning the game of basketball while honoring the Lord on and off the court.
“Team goals is to honor the Lord with our character,” said Harry Carter, Unity head coach. “Our team goals are simply to compete and play the game of basketball the right way. To work on all their skills and fundamentals as each young man has a desire to play on a collegiate level.”
Mason Hart 2019 Forward
Hart is a versatile player who can play several different positions. He is a good shooter with a high basketball IQ on the floor.
Jake Grisham 2019 Guard
He is a very good shooter at the Combo Guard spot. Grisham has some sneaky athleticism to his game with a solid handle of the basketball. He is a tough player who is not afraid to dive on the floor and hustle for his team.
Parker Clarita 2019 Guard
Clarita is a good shooter from behind the arc. He is a very scrappy Combo Guard. He plays hard non-stop on both ends of the floor.
Josh Major 2019 Forward
Major is a good defender and rebounder. He is improving on the offensive end. Over the past year Major has learned how to score better with his back to the basket. The mid-range jumper is one of the better skills Major has added to his offensive arsenal.
Jack Nickles 2019 Point Guard
Nickels is a great option for Unity at the Point Guard spot. He plays with a high basketball IQ with a good handle of the basketball.
“They are all great young men with quality parents which makes coaching a joy,” said Carter.
