Grassroots preview: Primetime Black 17U
The Primetime program always produces basketball talent in each class. This year they have two squads a Red team and a Black team with both squads having college players on the roster. In this preview we look at the Black squad and what players to be on the lookout for this spring and summer.
Primetime Black has several goals for this year. Competing at a high level game in and game out is certainly one of them.
“PrimeTime Black goal for this summer is to compete at high level,” said Dwight Cubit head coach. “We’ve always been underdogs coming in to tournament’s then they surprise a lot of people when play. We are out to make statement this summer.”
Coach Cubit says this team is so fun to coach because of the work his kids put in each game out on the floor. Primetime Black 17U squad is full of hard workers.
“I love coaching this team because these kids or hungry and egar to learn,” said Coach Cubit. “They keep surprising me every time they step on the court”
Brock Schreiner 2018 Point Guard
After having a great season at Choctaw high school Schreiber is ready for a breakout summer. He has great court vision, good defender because of his constant hustle and he shoots the ball well as the floor general.
Braydn Lute 2018 Post
He is an under the radar player with 6’7 size in the Post. He attends Blackwell high school, which is a large reason why he is relatively unknown. He can step outside and hit the three as a stretch four. Also, bangs in the post.
Devin Cubit 2018 Wing
Out of Harding Charter Prep Cubit is a little under sized on the Wing. But shoots the ball very well. He is really smart on court, which will attract coaches decision. Cubit is constantly making the right plays.
Shamar Hill 2018 Guard
Hill is a Guard out of Southmoore high school. He is a good lock down defender. He keeps everyone involved offensively. Hill is a great leader on the court.
Joshua Whitefield 2018 Post
Whitefield plays extremely tough in the Post constantly battling for position and the basketball. He is a hustle player, which every team needs. True team player.
They are a tough team that will surprise small college coaches and teams throughout the spring and summer.
