Grassroots preview: Oklahoma Power 17U
The Oklahoma Power have moved to the Adidas Gauntlet Silver Circuit this summer elevating their program to another level. It is no surprise they have players on their 17U team who can play at a high level. The Oklahoma Power is ran by Kellen McCoy. He also is the head coach for the 17U squad.
“Our goal as a team and program is to have success on the Adidas Silver Gauntlet,” said Coach McCoy. “To get the opportunity to play on the championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina.”
Jalen Crutchfield 2018 Wing
Th 6’5 Wing really shoots it well from the perimeter, but also has improved his game off the bounce. Crutchfield has a chance to have a huge summer and impress a lot of college coaches.
Mason Webb 2018 Wing
At 6’4 Webb has a high IQ, and scores in every way. The ability of Webb to effect the game in so many different ways on the court makes him special. He is also a player who gives his all non-stop on both ends.
Ndongo Ndaw 2018 Forward
He is a force down low rebounding and blocking shots in the paint. At 6’7 Ndaw has a chance on the Adidas Circuit to show coaches just what he can do for his team at a high level. So far early on he has really impressed on the defensive end.
Stephon Hall 2018 Point Guard
Hall does a great job making plays for others and assisting. But don’t be surprised when he pulls up and knocks down the jumper.
“I enjoy this team because they are all very coachable,” said Coach McCoy. “They play hard, share the ball, and play together. Makes it really fun to coach and watch.”
Oklahoma Power will start off the year in Dallas at the Adidas Silver Gauntlet Circuit April 21-23 in the opening live period and then stay on the circuit traveling to Atlanta the second live period April 28-30.
