Germany a budding star
You heard it here first, Jacob Germany is going to be a star! Germany burst onto the Oklahoma basketball scene earlier this year at Kingston. The 6’10 Post has huge high major potential with his size, toughness and determination. This high school season Germany led Kingston to the state tournament with his domination in the paint.
This spring Germany has taken off with Team Griffin. Germany has fully committed to basketball putting his baseball aspirations aside, which is already showing on the basketball court. Germany has been a force on the boards on both ends of the floor. He has soft hands with improving footwork in the paint. The potential skills for Germany to be a skilled offensive Post are certainly there.
One area Germany has flat out dominated is defensively in the Post. When opposing players drive to the bucket, Germany does a great job of altering or swatting shots. The energy Germany brings to both ends is infectious.
Following the first live period colleges are already taking note of the talent and potential Germany possess. The University of Oklahoma will have the 6’10 Post in for an unofficial visit on Tuesday. Germany credits his success on the court to the people around him.
“My success comes from the players and coaches that are on the team helping me do what I need to do to succeed,” said Germany. “I am very excited and blessed to go see Oklahoma.”
This summer for Germany is all about development. He is working on gaining muscle in the weight room. Another area Germany is working to improve is his ball handling skills and jumper. He has high goals to take his game to another level. The new 2019 Prospect Rankings release today, spoiler alert, Germany is in the top five.
