MVP
Jahill Jenkins sparked the DC All Stars and delivered clutch plays at key moments of the game is our MVP. He scored 11 points on 5-7 shooting, recorded 3 steals and displayed excellent ball handling and passing skills. Jahill is excellent in transition and showed his all around PG skills today as well as a great shooting stroke. The 6’0″ PG played at the Virginia Academy this past season and will play next year at Fairleigh Dickinson College. Jahill is #15 in the video of the game posted in the section above.
Best Rebounder
Terence Lewis, is a 6’6″ WF from National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, MD and is currently unsigned. Terence scored 10 points and collected 9 rebounds which was the game high. He rebounded very well in traffic and finished strong at the rim. Terence was a very big factor in leading NCA to the Capitol Beltway Tournament Championship which was loaded with talent this season. We will be writing an updated Recruit Report for Terrance this week.

Best Defender
Eddie Scott is a 6’6″ WF from Gonzaga High School in Washington, DC and was a key player for the Eagles success. Gonzaga was the #1 ranked team in the DMV according to the Washington Posts final poll. Eddie is a tremendous leaper, defender and valuable glue player. He could be the most unsung player in the DMV. Eddie scored 6 points today and played excellent man to man defense. We have seen Eddie play many times this season and he is a winner who always sacrifices for his team. Eddie will play next season at The University of Pennsylvania and in our opinion will be a major factor for the Quakers. We will be writing an article in the next week on Eddie and 4 other highly regarded DMV players who have committed to IVY League schools.
Best Intangibles
Reese Mona, played this season at St. Johns College in Washington, DC and the 6’2″, 175 guard will be a preferred walk on next year at the University of Maryland. Reese shot 3 for 3 from the field, added 4 rebounds, recorded 2 assists and had a steal. Reese is a superb ball mover and great passer in the half court and in transition. He has very high basketball IQ and is one of the best glue players in the DMV. We believe Reese will eventually land a scholarship from the University of Maryland and become a rotation player for the Terrapins. This week we will have an updated Prospect Spotlight for Reese.
Best Utility Player
Donald Brewer played this season at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington, DC and is a 6’4″, 200 lb WG/WF. Donald showed the ability to guard multiple positions today. He can score from outside/in, is excellent in transition and displayed these abilities today. We will be writing a Recruiting Report this week for Donald who is currently unsigned.
Best All Around Player
Emanuel Hylton was a very steady influence for the District All Stars and totaled 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists today. He was one of the most consistent players today and showed off his mid range game and tough defense. Emanuel is one of the smoothest players in the DMV and can score from anywhere in addition to impacting the game on defense. The 6’3″ WG from St. Johns HS in Washington, DC will play for San Diego next year.
Play of the Game
Cyril Ogbuagu threw down a tomahawk thunder dunk from the wing today which got the crowd out of their seats. Cyril is a 6’7″ 200, PF from Riverdale Baptist High School in Maryland who scored 6 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and recorded 2 blocks. Cyril excels in rebounding and defense, but he can put the ball in the basket from inside/out. He is currently unsigned and we will be writing a Recruiting Report for Cyril this week.
Cyril Ogbuagu exhibiting his rim protection skills.Best Under the Radar Players
Chyree Walker is a 6’5″ WF/WG who played for Bullis HS which won the Interstate basketball Championship in Maryland this season. Chyree is a very chiselled and long wing who excels in transition and defense. Today he scored 8 points and grabbed 4 boards in addition to playing excellent defense. Additionally, Chyree can score from the perimeter and has committed to the University of Delaware. We believe he will have a great career for the Blue Hens.
George Mawanda-Kalema played this season at Episcopal HS in Virginia and the 6’3″ WG/PG will has committed to Brown University. He played a very solid game, totaling 9 points, 2 assists, one steal with 0 turnovers. We feel George is one of the most well rounded combo guards in the Mid Atlantic region. George has a great handle, is an excellent facilitator, and possesses a great pull up game. Additionally, George can score at the rim, in the mid range and at the 3 point line while playing excellent defense. We believe George will be an impact player at Brown.
Most Intriguing Player
Milos Apic is a very skilled 6’10” PF from Sandy Spring Friends School in MD who runs the court very well. While we rank Milos #8 in our MD/DC rankings many people have not heard of him because he played for a small school this year. In limited action Milos scored 2 points, but added 5 rebounds and 1 block. We will write a Recruiting Report for Milos this week and we really like him as prospect.
Best at using his Wingspan
Matt Lewis had a great season for the Bishop O’Connell Knights who play in the loaded the WCAC.. Today Matt scored 8 points and was a major factor defensively. The 6’5″ long WG uses his great length on both sides of the ball. Matt can finish at the rim or convert on floaters with an array of moves. Defensively he can cause chaos with his ball hawking skills and is always a threat for a ball strip. Matt will play next year for James Madison and we feel he will be an excellent player for the Dukes.
Special Mention
1. Jacob Long is a 6’3″ PG who played this season at Cesar Chavez HS in Washington, DC. Jacob is currently uncommitted and we will have an updated Recruit Report for Jacob soon.
Jacob Long is #2 in the DMV Elite video.
