Oregon Grade by Grade All State Teams: 2019
The second in our listing of the grade by grade all state teams. Again, these teams are based primarily on a player’s on court production during the 2016-17 season. Projections or the future weren’t strong factors in the development of these teams. Check out our 2020 team here https://prephoops.com/2017/03/oregon-grade-grade-state-teams-2020/
2019 – Sophomores
Point Guard – Jaden Skinner Neilsen South Salem HS
Short in stature, but big on game describes “Skinny” who burst on to the state wide scene with his stellar play in last year’s state tournament. He emerged as a team leader for the Saxons this season, earning all league recognition for his efforts. He will be playing with The Hoop Salem this spring and summer.
Wing – Marcus Tshonis Jefferson HS
Tshonis, a 6’4 combo guard is the clear cut #1 player in the class of 2019 & is the only player with a known D1 offer at this point. He’s more than rankings and offers though as he was named first team all PIL and state tournament as he helped lead the Demos to their first ever 6A state title. He will be playing with Portland Basketball Club this spring & summer.
Wing – Stevie Schlabach Tigard HS
Talented wing player who lead the Tigers in scoring on his way to earning first team all league honors in the Three Rivers League. Schlabach led his team to within one possession of making the Final 8, and looks to be an established floor leader moving forward.
Post – Patrick Hebert Sheldon HS
Hebert, the 6’6 “little” brother of Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert emerged as a legitimate post threat this year for the Irish. His rebounding, post defense, and scoring helped Sheldon reach the state playoffs before eventually losing to West Salem. A high level football recruit as well, expect Hebert to continue to give teams fits with his size and strength.
Post – Mason Miller Thurston HS
It was a good year for sophomore posts in the Eugene area, as Thurston’s Miller also makes our list. The 6’6 post earned 2nd team all league honors as the 2nd leading scorer and rebounder for the Colts who finished a game away from the 5A state tournament this year.
Honorable Mention
Ty Rankin – Grant HS
Aaron Deloney – Grant HS
Drayton Caolie – West Linn HS
Josh Angle – Lake Oswego HS
