Nero shines under the bright lights
Caleb Nero has been spectacular career at Tulsa Memorial. He has been the starting Point Guard for Tulsa Memorial for the past three seasons, which have included a semifinal finish and championship game finish in Class 5A. One thing Nero has not obtained is a championship.
On Saturday, Nero will have a chance for the final time to become a state champion. He will also have one final chance to prove to college coaches at the Division I level that he can play at the highest level of collegiate basketball. Nero projects to the Low to Mid Major level. He holds a few Division I offers, but has really set recruiting aside, and focused on the season.
Nero finished with a 30 point game with key baskets down the stretch. He can play at the Point or the two guard spot at 6’2. He is quick, can create offense off the dribble and does a great job of running the team. The efficiency of Nero has really improved this year taking his game to the next level.
For a college looking for late combo guard that can score Nero fits that perfectly. Each year the state tournament proves to have a player who colleges can steal late. This year, Nero is the player who could be that late steal.
