6th Region POY and Other Top Region Performers
The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC) released their list of each regions player of the year at the end of February. The list covers all 16 regions of the state and PHKY has your recap of each one, as well as other top performers who stood out during the 2016-2017 Kentucky high school basketball season.
6th Region Player of the Year :
Jaylon Hall, Louisville Doss (2017)
Hall has committed to Wright State and also had offers from Youngstown State. Averaging 18.5 points and 4.1 rebounds this season, Hall helped lead the Dragons to the state final game as a junior. This season Doss came up just short, losing to Fern Creek in the regional final game 45-49.
OTHER TOP REGION PERFORMERS:
Chance Moore, Fern Creek (2017)
Moore led the Tigers to it’s first ever Kentucky state tournament berth this season, averaging 16 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Anthony Wales, Fern Creek (2018)
The junior point guard averaged 14.3 points per game while leading the Tigers at the floor general position, all the way to the state tournament. Wales had a 12 point performance in the 24th District championship and 11 against Doss in the 6th Region championship. He is one of the top 15 prospects in Kentucky’s 2018 class.
Ahmad Price, Fern Creek (2018)
Price is another top Kentucky 2018 prospect in a Tiger uniform. This season he averaged just over 11 points per game and 5.2 rebounds. Not only that, he was a blistering 53.5% from field goal range.
Jared Osborne, Bullitt East (2017)
The senior floor general for Bullitt East is a winner. Having played on one of the biggest AAU stages with MATTS Mustangs as a national runner-up, Osborne has been a part of some really good Bullitt East teams as well. This season Osborne helped guide the Chargers to a 20-9 overall record. He averaged 15.5 points per game and dished out a handful of assists on a nightly basis.
Trey Hill, Pleasure Ridge Park (2018)
Hill has offers from VCU, Radford, and Eastern Kentucky. This season he averaged 15.2 points per game, guiding PRP to a 18-11 overall record.
