Standing at 6’6, he is what you look for in a forward. Offensively, Elix can shoot the three, handle the ball up the floor.
Defensively, Elix can block shots and most importantly he has the foot speed to switch onto guards and force a tough shot.
That versatility is one of the major pieces in Mount St. Mary’s success and Elix is happy with the results so far. “This season is going fantastic,” Elix said. “We’re a team that has a lot of potential and talent at every position and on our bench.”
Elix is leading the Rockets in scoring and he is trying to reach his potential with the help of his team. “My teammates and coach push me to be the best I can be and it allows me to reach my full potential,” Elix said.
The 2017 forward is aware of what he brings to the game and his team. “My ability to get to the rim, block shots, and bring energy,” Elix said.
He believes he needs to work on ball handling and his jump shot.
Elix and his 2018 point guard Stephon Hall make up one of the better duos in 4A.
Elix is appreciative of his dynamic guard and how they make each other better. “It’s incredible I can’t ask for a better friend off the court,” Elix said.
“I’m extremely blessed him to have a point with that much skill because he always makes the right play.”
Elix has gained some attention throughout the season from local colleges. He has heard from NOC, Conners State, Redlands and more. He holds a 2.9 GPA and he scored a 17 on the ACT which he plans on taking again soon.
Elix is the type of player who goes to a JUCO and blows up in two years and finds himself at a high DII. He could also go to a DII and develop into a starter and a matchup problem at the four.
