Continue ReadingParkville High School’s Lamontte Brown can be found in a jersey during every season of the school year. The three sport athlete was an all-county running back for the football team, can be found on the baseball diamond in the spring, and has the responsibility of being the point guard for the basketball team.
Brown helped the Knights to a 12-10 record this as he prepares to lead Parkville in regional play next weekend. At 5’8,” Brown is often overlooked by the opposition, but he is no stranger to contact and displaying his ability to finish amongst big men in the paint. His 13 points per game leads the Knights, who have a very balanced scoring attack with three of their other starters all averaging nine per contest. He has tallied two 25-point performances, both resulting in wins.
(Note: Highlights are from Brown’s junior season)
If you watch a Knights game, it’s clear that Brown is the leader on the floor. Not only does he lead vocally, but his ‘never back down’ mindset helps set the vibe for the scrappy team. Brown told PrepHoops that his leadership on the floor and his ability to create open shots for his teammates have been his two biggest improvements this season.
A couple schools have shown interest in Brown, but he told PrepHoops that he hasn’t had consistent contact as of yet.
“I’m looking for a diverse school and a school that has a high rate when it comes to graduates getting jobs in their selected majors,” Brown said.
Brown’s growth throughout his high school career both on and off the court can ensure any college that recruits him that he is committed to improving every single day.
