Utah County- Leadership qualities are often times unappreciated at the High School Level. The 5 individuals listed below bring heart, toughness, and the will-to-win to their respected programs. Below are the 5 best leaders in Utah Valley ranked by Prep Hoops.
1. Steven Ashworth (Lone Peak) Steven is a monster for opposing coaches and players to go against. He is a coach on the court, a true floor general. With great vision, extremely high basketball IQ, and range on his jump shot, he is the total package for the point guard position.
2. Tyler Boyack (Maple Mountain) The 6’3 point guard is a fantastic floor general and has been nearly impossible to stop in region play this year. He has great length and vision. Ty might be the best shooter in the state and when he gets hot, look for 6 or 7 3’s in a row to go in.
3. Jordan Sagers (Timpview) Jordan is the third option on this Timpview basketball team, but is definitely the glue guy. He rallies the team together when they are in a funk, and also leads the team is 3 pointers made. He is a lights out shooter, and will always be ready to calm the storm and hit a huge shot for the T-Birds.
4. Jensen Hawkins (Skyridge) Jensen is the only non-point guard on this list. He is an excellent leader due to his exceptional motor and unselfishness. Jensen is the heart and soul of this years Falcon team. Hawkins is kind of the do-it-all guy and really would excel playing the small forward position at a solid NCAA D2.
5. Dalton Stewart (Timpanogas) Dalton has become an excellent go to player for the T Wolves this year. They look to him to make all big plays for the team and he always seems to have his hands on the ball. Dalton has hit a few huge shots this year and currently has his team ranked top 3 in 4A and #1 in Region 7.
