There are players that need more development, whether it is mental preparation or physical preparation. Many players across the country go the JUCO or others redshirt. When 6’5 F Tyrees “Tank” Sidberry graduated he weighed all of his options as he had offers but wanted to develop some more before making a decision, so he decided to attend Quakerdale Prep in Iowa. Tank graduated from Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City and played AAU ball for the Salt Lake Rebels. Tank has now reclassified with the class of 2017 and it’s paying off.
“I feel like prep school basketball has better prepared me to plat at the next level. The level of competition and the level of commitment that the basketball staff has is something I have never experienced until attending Quakerdale Prep.”
Quakerdale Prep is coached by Dustin Johnston. The Eagles play a 35 + game schedule against some really good programs in the Mid-West.
“The one thing that has developed the most is my confidence, which has grown exponentially thanks to the help of Coach Johnston.”
Coach Dustin Johnston had this to say about any school landing Tank:
“First off, they’re getting a great person! Every truly successful organization is seeking highly dependable and trustworthy individuals who will buy into the culture and improve overall environment. Tank has those intangibles in addition to being a really skilled and versatile as a player.”
Coach also mentions that he is always seeking to get better and that his length and athletic ability are what set him apart from other players. Tank is a gym rat and a tremendous student.
Tank wants to major in Mechanical Engineering, he has accumulated interest from D1-D3 schools across the country. He holds a 4.1 GPA and 27 ACT score. At 6’5 Tank can shoot the three and mid-range jumper, finish at the rim and guard multiple positions. Tank will be a steal for a D2 program and even a D1 school.
