The second game is a battle of top ten teams in their respective classes with Harrah taking Tulsa Memorial at 7:00pm.
The East vs West Showdown at Stroud will present some of the top prospects in the 2017 class. Below are five 2017 prospects and two 2018 prospects to watch this Saturday at Stroud in the East vs West Showdown.
Brady Manek 2017 Harrah Forward (Oklahoma signee)
Manek is a 6’8 Forward with great shooting ability from mid-range and the outside. The smooth jumper of Manek allows him to elevate over defenders with ease. He is also a high flyer we could see many slam dunks throughout the night from Manek. He has already signed his letter of intent with the Oklahoma Sooners for next year. Manek is ranked as the second overall player by Prep Hoops in the 2017 Oklahoma Class.
Caleb Nero 2017 Tulsa Memorial Combo Guard
Nero is a guard that has flown under the radar somehow through the recruiting scene, but that is starting to change as a Division I offer came in two weeks ago. Providence was in to see Nero with his expert scoring skills on Tuesday. Nero is not a super flashy player, but is consistent scoring the basketball at a high level from all three levels. Nero against Manek will put two Team Griffin alumni against each other.
Kobe Rose 2017 Tulsa Memorial Guard
Rose is a player who has a chance to surprise many people who have not seen his talents at Tulsa Memorial. This season Rose has elevated his game to another level. He has transformed into a powerful two guard with sneaky athleticism, toughness and produces highlight plays left and right. Rose is the hype player on Memorial that gets the crowd going with impressive jams. Rose and Nero are a dangerous combination, one of the best duo’s in the state.
Cameron Hines 2017 Fort Cobb Point Guard (East Central University signee)
Hines is a crafty Point Guard that leads the way for Fort Cobb on and off the floor. He gets his teammates involved and going in the offensive system. One thing that stands out right away when you watch Fort Cobb, Hines shows great leadership. If defenders are not careful Hines will put them on skates with his left to right crossover. Hines has signed with East Central one of if not the best Division II in the state of Oklahoma in recent years.
Greyden Steinmetz 2017 Fort Cobb Shooting Guard
Steinmetz is a walking bucket with one of the best jump shots in the Oklahoma 2017 Class. He is a microwave shooter that just needs to see one go in to catch fire for the night. Steinmetz is one of the better 2017 Oklahoma small college prospects that is still left uncommitted or unsigned. It will be interesting to see where the sharp shooter ends up.
Luke Major 2018 OKC Storm Wing
Major is a 6’6 Wing who is starting to develop into a go to player for the OKC Storm. He has done a great job of working on his ball handling skills, which has helped his ability to drive to the hoop. The mid-range jumper for Major is really tough for opponents to stop with his ability to rise over his defender. Major has taken big steps in his game on the court this year.
Shemar Walker 2018 Tulsa Memorial Point Guard
Walker is an under the radar player in the 2018 Class at Tulsa Memorial. He has always been really great at getting his teammates involved. This year Walker has really improved his jump shot making opponents respect his scoring skills from the outside. Walker could end up being one of the better Division II Point Guard prospects in the 2018 Oklahoma class.
