That changed on Tuesday night as the Bombers dominated Putnam City West 90-62 behind 47 points from Keyshawn Embery.
MVP: Keyshawn Embery Midwest City 2018 Combo Guard
Embery had an okay first half performance scoring 15 points, but he could not get a jumper to fall. In the second half it was a different story as Embery couldn’t miss from just about anywhere on the court. Embery scored in all three phases of the game. He impressed with Nebraska and Creighton in the stands.
X-Factor: Jalen Redmond Midwest City 2018 Forward
Redmond was a force in the first quarter scoring 9 points for the Bombers including three highlight jams. The tone Redmond set in the early part of the game took Putnam City West out of the game. Redmond finished with 15 points in the Bombers blowout win. After the game Redmond picked up a football offer from Arizona State.
Best Shooter: George Price Putnam City West 2017 Guard
Price is a shooter that can catch fire quickly. After struggling early, Price found his stride in the second half from three-point range. On a night when Putnam City West struggled to score the ball Price in the second half was a bright spot.
Best Passer: Juwan Walker Midwest City 2018 Point Guard
Walker knows his role at Midwest City and plays it expertly with a great set up of his teammates. Walker only shot the ball twice I believe in the entire game, but delivered dime after dime to his teammates.
Best Shooter: Derrick Walter Jr. Midwest City 2018 Wing
Walter did not take a whole bunch of shots, but was very efficient when he put the ball in flight towards the rim. Walter is a 6’5 smooth knock down shooter from behind the arc. He shot over 60% from three-point range on Tuesday night.
Young players to Watch:
JD Ray Midwest City 2019 Point Guard
Ray does a great job of getting his teammates involved. He is not the biggest, but gets the job done with a nice shot from the outside and great vision. He drove the ball to the basket strong on Tuesday.
Rondell Walker Putnam City West 2020 Point Guard
Walker will be a player to watch for years to come. He has a chance to be a special talent. Walker was in the starting lineup for Putnam City West last night. He has already taken an unofficial visit to a few local Division I programs.
