Jared Bynum did whatever his team needed in order to secure this victory. With his team nursing a 2 point lead after halftime, the crafty lead guard took over, scoring 10 third quarter points on his way to 24 points, 5 rebounds & 5 assists.
BEST PLAY
During Prep’s third quarter run, Bynum collected a rebound, penetrated the defense and dished to a cutting Mezie Offurum for an emphatic one-handed dunk.

BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | ANTHONY DURUJI | SAES ’17
Anthony Duruji scored a game-high 27 points (11/12 FT). The Louisiana Tech commit dmonstrated his awesome blend of skill & elite athleticism to go along with a high motor. The versatile 6’7 forward can shoot the 3, but also has a nice touch around the basket.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | DEJEAN DESIRE | PREP ’19
Sophomore wing Dejean Desire was excellent defensively for Prep. The long & lanky 6’5 wing took the ball away from opponents on multiple occasions, recording a game-high 4 steals.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | IKE NWEKE | PREP ’18
Ike Nweke scored 24 points and grabbed 9 boards in the win. The active forward sets good screens and is always available for a dump-off. Nweke showcased comfort in his shot from 15 feet, where he hit at least 5 jumpers.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | KAMDYN CURFMAN | PREP ’19
Prep showed the depth of their bench in this win, with significant contributions coming on both ends from Kamdyn Curfman. The sophomore sharpshooter was active defensively, where he constantly picked up full court. Curfman did a bit of everything. He hit shots from the perimeter, boxed out and hit the boards, and delivered accurate passes to open teammates.
BEST REBOUNDER | JUSTIN NWOSU | SAES ’18
Justin Nwosu is an absolute workhorse. The sturdily built forward recorded a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 boards.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | DEJEAN DESIRE | PREP ’19
Desire exhibits significant upside, given his serious defensive potential and high level athleticism. While his recruitment is still in it’s infancy, it won’t be long before division one programs begin their involvement.
BEST PASSER | JARED BYNUM | PREP ’18
Bynum was clearly the most skilled player in the gym. Along with his extremely tight handle, Bynum enjoys distributing timely and accurate passes to his team.
BEST INTANGIBLES | JARED BYNUM | PREP ’18
Another attribute of Bynum which was on display was his toughness. SAES did not give up an inch, but Bynum somehow continued to push through and make impact plays down the stretch.
