“I’m mainly a scorer and a rebounder,” Guthrie said. “I shoot the 15 footer a lot. But I can shoot the three and I can take my man off the dribble. On defense, I mainly guard big men, but I can guard a guard if I need too.”
Guthrie says he and his teammates have gotten off to a really good start on the season.
“This season has started great,” Guthrie stated. “Right now, I’m averaging 15.5 point, 9 rebounds and 4 assists per game; but I’m looking to get my average and rebounds up a little more. But our team is performing OK; we are 3-1.”
In the classroom at the high school, Guthrie says he is a hard worker.
“In the classroom, I’m a hard worker,” Guthrie noted. “I make mainly all A’s and B’s. My GPA is a 3.6.”
Although he hasn’t received any direct offers yet, Guthrie has been shown interest from Indiana Wesleyan and says that more college coaches and programs should start to reach out because his game sets apart from others.
“I think my game should catch college coaches’ eyes because I’m a really hard worker and I’m really coachable,” Guthrie added. “I can pretty much play any position that my coach needs me too. I also understand the X’s and O’s of the game really well.”
