Oklahoma Writer Roundtable: Most Underrated
The state of Oklahoma is starting to blossom with prospects and the Nation is starting to notice. With that being said, we feel that there are some players that are being overshadowed in the state. Below each of our writers has chosen a player to spotlight as underrated.

Callen Haydon
2017 5’11 El Reno
Haydon has somehow gone without many looks from Division II programs. With the ball in his hands at the Point Guard spot, Haydon is one of the best at creating offense for himself and others. Haydon has been putting up great performance after great performance so far this year at El Reno.
Recently, Haydon scored his 1,000 point for his high school career in a huge win over Harrah to win the Harrah Panther Classic. He is one of the top unsigned seniors in the Oklahoma 2017 Class that is projected at the Division II level. The knack Haydon has for scoring the basketball is extraordinary.

Jaylen Gotcher
2017 6’6 Putnam City
Jaylen Gotcher of Putnam City has been one of the pleasant surprises of the year so far. The bouncy forward is a hidden gym at one of the historic powers in the state.
Overshadowed by Ben Jenkins and Owen Atkinson, Gotcher has solidified himself as the go-to-guy on a feisty Pirates team. Jaylen is one of the better shooters with size in the state.
He could improve his slashing ability but he has all the good given talent to be a huge steal for a Division II.

Tauriawn Knight
2018 6’2 Edmond Santa Fe
Knight is one of the more overlooked prospects in a loaded 2018 class. With a projected 6-7 Division 1 players, it can be hard to catch someone’s eye. What Knight has done so far this season is show that he cannot only be a great role player, but an even better go-to player.
Whether it be on a fast break or a set play you must find and face guard Knight. If you fail to do such, you might then find yourself on the wrong end of a 3-pointer. Along with his shooting stroke Knight has improved on his ability to handle the ball and looks to have gained some muscle as well. This has helped him body up bigger guards and stay in control against smaller ones.
Knight projects to be a low major Division I player. With Knight, the future only gets brighter from here.
