Nero has been the long celebrated star at Tulsa Memorial handling the starting duties at the 1 since his sophomore season. Rose on the other hand has developed from a defensive stopper into an all-around budding star.
Nero and Rose do a great job of completing each other at the 1 and the 2. Both have a great chance to end up playing at the Division I level at some point in their basketball career. Nero plays with a great change of pace when he drive the basketball that catches defenders off guard. It is tough to contain Nero because of his pace and quick jump shot.
One could compare Nero’s offensive game a little to Jamal Crawford at the Clippers with the style of shot he has and how he can get open.
Rose has long been good at driving to the basket and finishing in traffic. Over the past year he has improved becoming a terror for opponents with vicious dunks and a great knack for a high percentage around the basket.
The biggest offensive improvement Rose has made is the three-point shot. The three-point shot has made Rose at 6’3 very tough to guard with his good handle, quick jump shot and great driving ability.
Rose and Nero have stiff competition for the best duo in the state. However, so far this season Nero and Rose are making it known they are in the conversation at the very least for the top spot. Rose signed with Connors State JUCO earlier this year in the early signing period. Over his two years at Connors State if Rose takes care of business he will have a great chance to end up at the Division I level.
Nero picked up Division I offers early in his recruitment, but since then the schools have fallen out of the picture. He is the best guard unsigned for people to take a look at in the state of Oklahoma. The body of work Nero has is impressive with his performances he put together on the NIKE EYBL Circuit to what he has done at Tulsa Memorial.
The college that nabs Nero in the late signing period in April will be a very fortunate one. It is not often you find a gamer like Nero late in the recruiting year.
