The high-major talent with great size and strength for his position has also received recent interest from Florida State, Kent State, and Ball State. Coastal Carolina made a visit to his high school this fall to take in a workout.
Hollowell, a 6’3 180 pound athletic guard put up enormous numbers in his junior year campaign, averaging 26.0 PPG, 7.2 APG, and 7.0 RPG. However, this do-it-all guard isn’t satisfied and is still working to perfect his craft.
I had the privileage to speak with Tray over the weekend to discuss his offseason concentration. “Decision making and eliminating turnovers” were two skills he’s most locked in on improving. Having those two abilities are extremely vital to having long-term success at the point guard position. I’m confident those words were music to college coaches ears.
Furthermore, he is looking to advance his game by, “improving his shot selection and overall leadership.” Tray is the lone senior on his team this season and underclassman will be looking to him to provide guidance throughout.
Going into his final high school season, Tray has his sights set on winning the, “All ‘A’ State Championship and “making it to the Sweet 16.”
Fresh off an impressive performance this past Saturday, that saw him go for 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. His list of current college suitors is most certainly going to grow. This is a prospect that you don’t want to sleep on.
Tray told Prep Hoops KY that he “plans on signing in the spring” and is currently “open” in his recruitment.
