He even has a radical alternative plan if he doesn’t end up playing college ball.
Right now though, the 5-foot-10 floor general is focused on a strong senior season, and hopefully generating some late attention and offers.
“I think I’m just going to wait it out until after basketball season and weigh my options then. Then I’m going to talk to my family about it and see what they have to say, then I’ll commit,” said Harris, who has a Kentucky Wesleyan offer.
“I’m on this website called fieldlevel.com, and coaches around the country get to look at your profile and watch your highlights and stuff like that. I have a lot schools on there looking at me, but it doesn’t say which schools specifically are looking at me.”
He added: “During basketball season I’ll get to really see who comes to the games and who talks to me and things like that.”
If he doesn’t choose to play college ball — though it seems more likely he will — then Harris mentioned to PHKY an alternative idea.
“I think this last 6-8 months is going to be crucial for me,” he said. “And I”ve been talking to my family; and it’s either college, or I might want to try and go play overseas in the pros.”
In the meantime, Harris will focus on his senior season, and trying to help himself get recruitment, while leading his team as a wily vet.
“I think the coaches are really wanting me to get my teammates involved first, and then my scoring will come in the third and fourth quarter,” said Harris.
“I think I have a big role on the team. A lot of guys left and I was our fifth option before, but now I’m our first scoring option — so I think a lot teams are going to be focused on me.”
