James did note one area NAIA has has been more interested in James than other small Kentucky programs.
“I’m still waiting on offers, I have some interest from some small schools. It’s pretty much like Pikesville, that’s been most of the interest,” said James.
“My recruitment is a big priority, I’d love to keep playing next year. I hope my recruitment really takes off my senior year, and I get more interest and some offers.”
The 6-foot-4 wing has been working plenty to improve his body since his junior season ended.
“I’ve just been trying to work on my athletic ability, and trying to get into better shape,” said James. “I’m really trying to become more mobile and increase my vertical.”
Now starting his fifth season of varsity hoops — he started with Sheldon County before transferring to Mercer — James did mention to PHKY one personal goal of his. It would put him in some pretty exclusive company.
“Personally I’d like to get to the 3,000 point mark, I need about 800 more to get there,” said James, who mentioned what his role will be this season with the Titans.
“I think it’s more of me being a leader. I’ve been around for awhile, and I just need to be more vocal and more of a leader for our team.”
