He’s already been to some camps, and says by this time next year he’s hoping his recruitment is well underway,
“I’ve been to two elite camps, both last summer. I went to Newbury College and Lincoln Memorial,” said Sanders.
“I talked to one coach from Newbury, and he’s been staying in contact with my dad, and he asked for my schedule.”
Sanders added: “It’s (recruitment) something I’m looking forward to. I’m hoping to pick up at least one offer by the end of AAU season next year.”
Sanders spent this past spring and summer playing grassroots ball with Team Vision 15U, and says he spent his time working on being both a primary scorer and distributor.
“I like that program a lot, it was a very good experience. I was the predominant scorer for that team, but learned how to get other people involved while being that predominant scorer,” said Sanders.
“I rely on my outside shot and my mid-range. And I’m mostly working on moves off the dribble right now.”
This coming Friday, Dec. 2 will be the start of his sophomore season with the Redhounds.
Sanders started last season as a freshman before he suffered an injury to his shoulder. This season he’ll again be the starting shooting guard.
“I’d like to be first-team all region, and maybe average 15 points per game and three or four assists,” said Sanders.
“This year I’ll be more of a scorer, whereas last year they didn’t really rely on me to score that much.”
