This week our topic will be over the top shooters around the state and who will help their teams win from long distance.
Who is the best shooter in the class of 2017?
Trae Young. There are a quality amount of shooters in this class but Young is just a cut above. Young’s range and his ability to shoot off the dribble makes him not only one of the best shooters in the state but also in the nation. Norman North will be a nightmare to scout against because once #11 crosses half court, every defender must be on high alert.
Who is the best shooter in the 2018?
Mo Garcia. The Tulsa Union guard has one of the quickest releases in his class. At 6’4, Garcia can shoot over most defenders who try to deter his attempts. Unfortunately, the trait of high basketball IQ is automatically given to a coaches kid but Garcia really has it and it will play a key role in playing off of talented frontcourt.
Who is the most underrated shooter in the class of 2017?
Darius Riggs. Riggs is a big guard from OKAY who has a smooth lefty release. He has all the tools to be an effective shooter at the next level. Attending an OKAY will be will worth it with Riggs and his brother Caleb in the backcourt.
Who is the most underrated shooter in the class of 2018?
Carson Calavan from Fort Gibson. Calavan is a big time shooter who can fill it up if left alone. What Calavan lacks in size he makes up with a great feel for the game. The 5’11 guard catches the ball off the hop and has a picture perfect release. He has the ability to shoot off the dribble as well.
What shooter will step up and have a big senior season?
Chris Potts from Putnam City West. Potts got hot at the end of the year last year and he was a key component in PC West title run last year. He has the ability to put together a full season of consistent shooting. The Patriots have a ton of guards who can create off the dribble but Potts opens up the floor for those drives to be successful. Right now, Potts is considered streaky but he will be known as a knock down shooter by the end of the season.
