16th REGION
STATE CONTENDER: ELLIOTT COUNTY (62nd District)
Elliott County looks to try and make it three straight trips to the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen by returning two of the top players in the region. Led by sophomore star guard Korbin Spencer, who is already getting D-I looks, and senior veteran guard Chase Porter, a consummate floor general looking to lead his squad back to Rupp Arena. In order to reach their full potential, Elliott County will need to get a little extra from the rest of their roster which is young and growing.
NEXT TO CONTEND?
West Carter has plenty of talent to give Elliott County a run for their money. After finishing the year 21-9 last season, the Comets hope to return senior big man Ben Jordan, a 6’9 big man who loves to get his teammates involved. West Carter also returns Hadyn Roe and his 16.4 points per game. Senior guard Dalton Brown also returns. Brown is a shooting specialist and hopes to give West Carter an added weapon to take down their district rival Elliott County.
