Hines says he loved the recruiting process but was won over by the family atmosphere that ECU presented.
“I really wanted to go to a place I felt really comfortable and liked the culture and coaches,” said Hines. “Of course ECU being in state and pretty close where my family could watch me more and everything had a little to do with it. I really just love the direction they are headed in and what they want to accomplish. I loved how they are winners like me and make me feel comfortable and confident and I think that is a huge thing when making that decision.”
Hines is a sparky guard who can really facilitate and make everyone around him better. He has a knack for getting in the lane and making the right decision. He has amazing court vision and is constantly aware of where all his passing options are. Hines can also simply go get a bucket. His crossover is lighting fast and he can pull up in a split second. He’s a small-town kid with a big chip on his shoulder.
Hines says he is confident in his ability to contribute to the team immediately but will gladly accept the role he is given.

“Well anything I can do to help the team win is what I’ll do,” said Hines. “They are losing a couple guards after this year and hopefully I can come in and fill a role and make an impact.”
The future is bright for Hines. With his final year of high school ball ahead of him, Hines is hungry for another gold ball. After that, it is off to Ada, Oklahoma for life as an East Central Tiger.
