FRIDAY | NOV. 25 | 6:30 PM | ST. ANDREWS VS. MCDONOGH
Look for unsigned senior Damian Chong-Qui and nationally touted junior Noah Locke to prove why they are considered one of the most formidable back-courts in the DMV for McDonogh. Chong-Qui and Locke are highly skilled guard who compete at a high level make the game look easy offensively.
St. Andrews boatst three solid pure athletes in Louisiana Tech commit Anthony Duruji, junior forward Justin Nwosu, and sophomore guard Heru Bligen. Durugi will look to actively protect the rim and McDonogh must put a body on the hyper-athletic 6-foot-7 senior as well. Nwosu and Bligen are athletic and bring two-way versatility. Bligen will likely be asked to help slow down McDonogh’s talented backcourt, while Nwosu will be asked to help control the boards and score from the middle areas of the floor.
FRIDAY | NOV. 25 | 8:00 PM | ST. MARIA GORETTI VS. ST. ALBANS
Collin Nnamene, a 6-foot-9 junior post prospect, will look to fortify the interior for St. Albans. A prideful, extremely active and forceful rim protector, Nnamene has the ability to single-handedly alter the result of this contest with his dominance.
Goretti will be paced by their seniors, Cornell commit Jake Kuhn and Illinois State commit Elijah Clarance. Kuhn and Clarance are impressive athletes who possess good size respectively, and will without question be the leaders of this team both emotionally and in terms of production. Watch out for emerging 6-foot-4 junior point guard Amir Harris, who was a standout at Hoop Group Baltimore Top 100 this fall. Sophomores RJ Blakney and Marial Mading will bring size and athleticism to the front court while looking to thrive in transition.
