SUMMER AAU CIRCUIT
Chris spent this past summer working on his game and playing AAU ball with the Louisville Magic (adidas). “I enjoyed my time playing with the Magic. I really bonded with the players and we had great team chemistry,” said Chris. “I felt like I had a pretty good showing in most of our events against some elite competition. I really went in to each game with a chip on my shoulder and those were the game I performed well in.”
OFF-SEASON PROGRESS
During the off-season, Chris mentioned to PrepHoopsKY that getting stronger was one of his top priorities. “That helped me a lot this summer in the post. I worked on establishing a “go-to” post move and having counter moves. I’m also working to extend my range to be able to step out and score in pick and pop scenarios as well as shooting from the elbows.”
SENIOR SEASON EXPECTATIONS
“Our goal is to reach the regional championship and compete in the state tournament,” said Chris of his team goals for Graves County. “Individually I want to break the state career blocks record. I think I’m about 200 shy (Chris had 190 blocks as a junior). I also want to break our school scoring record and I’m about 600 points shy of it. Depending how the season goes I would like to be a candidate for Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball.”
WHAT HE’S LOOKING FOR IN A COLLEGE
Chris told PrepHoopsKY that he’s looking for a place that’s a great fit for both him and the university. “I really want to go to a place with basketball tradition and great academics.” Chris holds a 4.0 GPA and expects to finish near the top of his class.
RECRUITING SUMMARY
Chris currently holds a total of 15 different scholarship offers, including Northern Kentucky, Portland, Samford, East Tennessee State, New Mexico, and Middle Tennessee. In the past week both Central Florida and Valparaiso have reached out to PrepHoopsKY to learn more.
